Going through the chain of command, LSCM’s Vice President is quite the interesting fellow who has a knack for home brewing, but I’ll get into that later. Say hello to Pete Anderson. Pete is a 2009 graduate of Bethel University where he earned his Bachelors in Business Marketing and minored in History (a not so known fact!). While attending Bethel he took a Personal Investments class that helped to fuel his interest in investing. He has also dabbled in day trading and has had success in doing so.
Currently Pete is in Business Development and Sales at a commercial printer based in the Twin Cities. One minor draw back to his (heck, almost everyone’s) blossoming career is working for The Man; in this case that man happens to be his father. As you could imagine, working with someone who knows you too well can have its disadvantages. When he is not working on Minnesota Twin’s print projects, part of his summer is spent as head coach of the Bloomington Blue Legion baseball team. Outside of work, various seasonal hobbies include skiing, fishing, golfing, and casual photography/editing.
When asked by Ben to join an investment club, it was Pete’s curiosity and eagerness to further learn investing and build his experience that drew him in. A few years from now, Pete is hoping to continue growing his friendship with club members as well as making decent returns from investing. 10 years from now branching out into larger investments and starting a brew pub are in the plans while starting a firm remains in the dreams (for now!).
For help on investing, Pete turns his teachings from Medvedoski, a professor at Bethel, The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham, various knowledgeable formats from Warren Buffet, and some nameless-at-this-time inside sources. You can forget about the big stick with this guy (unless it’s a ski pole), Pete’s favorite thing about being Vice President is being a soft spoken leader.
Other favorite things of his are a number of movies, with A River Runs Through It topping his charts. MGMT, Vampire Weekend and Queen frequently vibrate his ear drums while A Million Miles in a Thousand Years, The Tip Point, Tribes, and The Great Gatsby draw in his eyes. Medium rare to rare steaks and breakfast food at anytime of day make his mouth drool and his multiple ways of cooking eggs are second to none.
As mentioned before, the home brewing is the start to a dream of Pete’s; turning it into a business. One day he’d like to open a bar/grill/microbrew across the street from Target Field called Twin Town. Second choice would be Pillager Pete’s, a bar/grill/marina. He would also like to note that he has rights to both names and we shouldn’t get any ideas! In case it wasn’t blatantly obvious already, three loves of Pete’s life are food, beer, and baseball.
Dictionary: Definition; True Man? Pete Anderson.
Cheers
